Heads up this is not to glorify one group of persons over another. It is a mindset shifting post to create awareness.

That said we can look at a strong person not as the quintessential heavy weight lifter that can carry heavy blocks (though that takes strengh too but here the focus is on emotional and psychological resilience. See If any of these or similar happenings relates to you…

Your mom died, you wrote exams had a baby while running a business yet you hardly let another person see you cry? Yep…you 💪strong.

You had a divorce, raised your kids alone, kept going to counselling and working 9 to 5? Yep..strong.

You had an accident, the next month a major operation, a fall out with your mother, while running a business and two months later she died and you had to deal with it? Yep strong.

Your child had cancer when you just moved to a new town alone with your kids, and some months later the doctor said you had to go through series of health check up because there was a risk you also are falling sick and yet you have to work , go to school and still smile daily? Yep strong.

You had to do serious therapy for trauma,  then left an abusive relationship, weeks later you got into several accidents, then lost one of your parents and cry at night while smiling through the day ? Yep strong. And so many more cases…

You see its not by chance that many strong men and women do not cry publicly. This is not to shame those who cry even though some people do use tears for manipulation .

FACT

Many strong people are conditioned from childhood to be like that. They were either separated from family at a young age or were caretakers of mother father and or siblings while still kids themselves .

Many times strong folks have been taught that crying is weakness or were left to cry alone as kids, or worse punished and shamed for showing pain. Usually such adults while still kids were praised only when they excelled or shined. What happens is that the brain then wires to reflect the thought that crying would make them vulnerable and no one was coming to help or if they came, they would be shamed for their tears and accused of being weak.

This post is not to bash but let it be stated clearly, that, It doesn’t matter what the caretakers or parents are now doing, the most important thing is what was done while Mr and Ms Strong were babies. In adulthood these folks are scared of vulnerability, trusting others, opening up In a really emotional  way because they doubt that others can hold space for them to do so.

WHAT HAPPENS THEN WHEN A SUCCESSFUL PERSON CRIES OR SHOWS PAIN AND HOW CAN THEY DO IT RIGHT?

IS THERE IS A RIGHT ✅WAY TO BREAK DOWN ANGELS….AND WHAT DOES THIS LOOKS LIKE DIFFERENT PEOPLE?
