Hi friends great to see that you stopped by. Well I am sharing my story of natural hair with you here at enchanting naturals with the goal of encouraging some of you just returning back to your thirsty roots to stay on course! This hair must grow!

Well, I went natural after seeing my eìlder sister grow her hair to her mid back. I mean it ladies we are 100 percent wholly African, although we often joke about our grand Ma being half Japanese. Anyways I watched her, I watched her hair grow, I also saw that she was diligent with her routine. Two things struck out in her style. My sister could be committed to her goal but she could also be quite lazy. Depending on the mood she was in. So to accommodate those days when her mood was off she made her routine very simple and relatively short. And ladies I must tell you this helped her stick to it. Myself I started trying to copy her you know nah most younger sisters we are copy cats.

But Walai my hair had a mind of its own o. While my sisters was so soft and she needed protein treatments back to back, mine was so strong and water hardly entered. I mean the porosity was very very low.  Sounds like your hair? A couple of things helped me cope with my strong and stubborn hair and if you have this problem it may help you too.

So I started by first being serious. I made a goal to have breast length hair by the next year and so far so good, I am making it happen and so can you. Here are the steps I took.

This is me Ladies. Nice to meet you Im Lucy or you can call me Light.

POINTS TO NOTE

  1. I got serious. i I had to add this, ladies because I know some people will not be serious and action is where the magic happens as enchanting naturals founder Harriet/Maya would always say.
  2. I used baking soda or apple cider vinegar to wash my hair first. I was told after paying for consultation with enchanting naturals to try this as they will clarify my hair and remove all build up. Call it the hairs version of a scrub. Honestly the way my hair feels after this step alone I knew the 2500 I paid for consultation was so worth it after trying other things the consultant also suggested.
  3. My hair was immediately softer and more easy to detangle. The slip was also more especially when I used Apple Cider.
  4. I used a regular shampoo, with moisturizing milk. I have since replaced this with enchanting naturals conditioning variety. Both worked well.
  5. After the second step ladies you need to see how foamy my shampoo becomes. After shampoo though the hair becomes quite thought.
  6. My next step is to follow with yogurt. Honestly I was told to use sugar free yogurt but that’s not always possible and since the lady I spoke with during my enchanting consultation gently told me I could use sugar yogurt provided it was colour free, and that I should add any of jojoba, grape seed or coconut oil. I do that and wore my electric steaming cap for 15 mins. Sometimes I used the shower cap option when Nigeria decides to take their light. Eye roll for my dear country.
  7. Anyways by the time I rinsed off this treatment, my hair is usually incredibly softer and so sweet to feel. I then followed with a rinse out conditioner to remove the yogurt smell. Sometimes I skipped this step, rinsed thoroughly then follow with my Shea Butter and coconut and almond oil whisk (Any natural oil that you like will work for you I’m sure).

POINTS TO BRING OUT.

Did you spot my front hair edges? Ghana weaves almost wiped them off but I am now using a small hair growth oil by enchanting Naturals. I hope to see it grow soon.

I have replaced my own butter with enchanting naturals Chebe butter, Softening Butter and Mango Butter leave in. My butter was kind of grainy and I got tired working with the grains.

These are 3 different products and I use them alternatively ….because I hate using one thing for too long. The enchanting naturals consultant also told me to switch them up occasionally because after some time the hair and body gets so used to a particular substance it would stop responding so switching up between 3 products is a good way to protect against this happening. Also one last thing, every 6 weeks I add one raw egg to the yogurt mix or use enchanting naturals protein treatment. This serves as my protein treatment.

Finally, my stubborn strong hair Is now flexible and heading towards the boob length. I don’t have a measuring photo yet for this post but I will be updating it in Mid-2022. So watch out for that but don’t wait till then before hopping on the natural hair care team. Or even relaxed hair.

To close the story, las las black hair can grow. If you want it to.
