Welcome!, my lovelies to the coolest weather in all of the year. Hehehe. (angel princess laugh). I believe this is one of the coolest weather, because that’s exactly what it is. The icy wind in the early mornings, bread turning to crackers in less than an hour, the wind dancing chills up your skin once you step out of the bathroom, really what`s there not to love? For those still on the fence, look at this as your positive mindset shifting post.
Well the only thing that’s not to love is the scaly skin, cracked lips and breaking, strong hair. No one loves that, and that we can agree with. So how to fix??
The following steps will help.
- Moisturise. This cannot be over said. Winter-harmattan is is dry, cold weather at its finest. Water is evaporating from the skin like crazy. What is the best way to bring it back? By adding water. So, spray a moisturizer on your hair, or on your skin make sure the body lotion is water based. To know this check if the ingredient list includes water among the first 3 ingredients. Please remember, just pouring water on your hair everyday, if you are African, or have afro-textured, kinky hair, is not going to moisturise your hair. Infact, it will strip it of moisture. We recommend investing in a hair moisturizer. To know more about the difference between hair moisturizer and just plain ol water, you can click here. Now after step 1, the thing to do is follow step two.
- Get a Hair oil/Body Oil/Body Butter-The strongest, way to really mosturise skin is voila..Any thing with oil whether butter or liquid oil. How? Why? By trapping water inside and on the surface of the skin/hair. Remember, the little science trick? Water and oil do not mix. So water cannot escape where oil has been used as a sort of band aid. This cool butter whipped with 15 exotic essential oils is one thats a good gift for the self and others in this season. Best part is that its called Winter-harmattan, 🥰, and has ethnic inspired story behind its production. Perfect reminder to use it.
- Now, this list is very short, because if you do this two things repeatedly, you will have moisturized skin throughout the season. The third thing on the list is optional but recommended. That is;
- Use a body scrub/hair clarifier…periodically-Now this one is not for everyday usage but because of the dry nature of this weather, it is recommended to do this every now and then. This will remove, dead cells, and ensure your skin feels baby soft, silky and that your hair feels the same too. Man or woman, these tips works, to help you feel awesome and look it too. Till sunny weather comes again lovelies..enjoy sparkling.
