Does your soul and mind not feel refreshed after reading those words? Thats the power of affirmations and Gratitude.

GRATITUDE…..WHAT A BEAUTIFUL WORD AND WHAT A WORD WE HARDLY EMPLOY UNTIL ITS ALMOST TOO LATE.

For example, one of the first times I remember my mom really telling me how proud she was of me, and thankful that I am her child was when I was at a very low point in my life in 2019, and our relationship had fallen apart. To this day I don’t know how things would have turned out if something greater than us all had not taken control and restored our relationship. Now, I’m just glad to have my mom đź‘©.

The point is, many times we fail to appreciate the little things and the people we love meanwhile we spend a lot of time complaining about every single silly thing. Oh I don’t have this, you didn’t do that, I don’t have that and bla bla bla…don’t get me wrong there are toxic relationships that need to be addressed but we will get to that I’m this series. The focus, today though is practicing thankfulness. It’s a practice darlings, a practice.

I find it amazing, how we suffer our bodies with complaints because really science has shown that stress kills cells faster than anything else, and complain is one of the highest times of stress we can put our minds and brains and mental to. That used to be me too.

Also really think about how your body feels when you complain versus when you give thanks or praise. It’s pain versus joy right? Whether you’re giving it receiving it or witnessing others doing it the results are the same. One generates pain đź’”the other joy and pleasure ✨♥.

One thing I always say is, the same energy it takes you to complain, it will take you to give praise and gratitude with a bonus. The bonus is you will bloom, your body will radiate and you will attract more of the positive happy, radiance and abundance you are seeking to yourself.

Everyone is drawn to playful happy people who just seem to radiant sunshine and “a no worry can do” spirit. This is why we love children because the seem so unaffected by life most times. I personallt adore this in kids. Just observing them lifts my mood and makes me giggle.

This is not to bash my darlings, or force you to be positive when you feel like crying or being anything but positive. Feelings are valid and must be validated. But how? How do you strike the balance between validating your pain, crying it out and giving thanks? The more we go into these series, the more, my lovely that will become clearer to you. For now, let me share a quick mood boosting exercise and some psychological facts.

  1. When you express gratitude, you get more of the things you’re grateful for and more of others. This is because you look like you are already full and good things get attracted to good feelings..
  2. Science has shown that certain neurons in the brain fire together and this causes them to wire or bind together to form personality or behaviour traits that affect our lives. Therefore, when we think happy thoughts, those cells bind together and over all makes us happier people no matter what life and others are doing. This also makes us automatically create happier experiences in our lives. This applies to negative neurons as well, in fact they bind faster. So, keep that in mind the next time you feel like having a self pity party, have a “I feel good thanks giving party“ instead. Look for the bright 🌞lights.
  • Finally at the end of each day, no matter how sad or horrible or whatever that day has been, find three to 5 things to write about in a diary or phone notepad that you are grateful for. It could be your health, your smile in the mirror, people you met, tasty yummy foods you ate, your taste buds, support you received, hey maybe its even your teeth, your cat`s tail, your dogs bark. I may not know what this is for you but I know if you search for it you`ll see it.

  I know it sounds soo simple. Some readers may be like Maya, this is a joke right but no its not. The more you do this, the stronger your positive mindset becomes. Truth is life will throw us funny curves at certain points. Life can be unpredictable once in a while, but we can be predictable and choose to navigate these positively. Honey, that is the fastest way to get through the dark to the sparkling side.
